Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to book? Can I walk up?

Booking is required for all guests. Please do not attend the tour without a booking, as the tour may be sold out or unavailable on that date.

Can I use my ticket on another date?

No - you must attend the tour on the date specified on your ticket. If you attend the tour on a different date then we will regretfully need to turn you away. Please choose carefully.

There are not enough spots left for all of my group?

If you cannot select enough spots for your group then it means there are not enough spots available on that date.
Additional guests not in your booking will be turned away.

Do I need to book my group together?

Yes! All guests must be in a single booking, as guides are assigned to each booking in advance. Separate bookings may lead to your group being split up with different guides.

We are a group/travelling party of 9 or more people?

Groups/Travelling parties of 9 or more people must book a private tour here. Groups/Travelling parties of 9 or more people will be turned away and passes will still be validated.

What if there is bad weather?

The tour runs in all weather conditions. During bad weather, the British Army may do a 'Wet Change,' a shortened version of the Changing of the Guard ceremony without music.

How much walking? Wheelchairs? Strollers?

The tour involves about 3 miles of continuous walking with no breaks and is not suitable for wheelchairs, those with walking difficulties, or prams/strollers/buggies.

Do we go to the gates of Buckingham Palace?

No - this tour does not go to the front gates of Buckingham Palace. The tour will take you to the best spots around the Royal Palaces for the ceremony.

I am trying to book but being asked to pay - why?

If you are trying to book with a Go City pass but are being asked to pay then it means that you have not followed all of steps 1-5 listed above (see Step 2!).
